The Magicus Mundi is out of the closet and onto the evening news. Someone is stirring up the supernatural world against the mundane, and Sylvie may be the only one who can stop an all-out war between the two. That is, if she isn't already too late.

Re: First vs. Third
It's odd, because I'm exactly the opposite. All through high school I couldn't even make it through the first chapter of a book written in third person. In uni I got over the phobia. Barely. (Lucky for me, because that's when Maledicte came out.) Still, I only make the exception for ridiculously addictive books. I need books to take me over, completely and absolutely, from the get go. I also assume that first person narratives tend to be more character driven...Not sure where that comes from.
And I think we might be inventing these book-ruining trends based on our preferences, because I swear I can't find a good first person fantasy anywhere. 'Cept in urban fantasy, where first person just dominates lol.
